We just noticed this short and sweet review of our album Seven White Horses by the German online magazine FolkWorld.
FolkWorld is a web magazine and internet portal, being online since 1997. The authors publish three issues every year and in this Summer 2020 edition, there’s a lovely wee review of Seven White Horses!
The review can be found at www.folkworld.de or read the review below:
Boxin’ The Vox “Seven White Horses”
(CD, Own label, 2020).
Dutch folk duo Boxin’ The Vox is comprising of David Plasmeijer (banjo, lute) and Anne-Lotte Paymans (guitar), the box on this album is David Munnelly’s. “Seven White Horses” features 10 original songs – from the catchy pub song about “The Whiskey War” between Canada and Denmark to the dead-serious remembrance of the paratroopers jumping into Normandy on the “Day of Days” in 1944. “An Ísiltír”, the Irish word for the Netherlands, relates ‘why we love to go to Ireland, but always come back home to the lowlands of Holland.’ Watch “Mr Alzheimer” (Live)!
